Why we refuse to sell Royal Canin
I'm writing this in 2020, a full 7 years after we removed Royal Canin from our shelves and today I was stunned when l looked at their Kitten pouches.
The composition of the kitten pouches are as follows:
Meat and animal derivatives, cereals, vegetable protein extracts, minerals, derivatives of vegetable origin, oils and fats, yeasts, various sugars.
You can tell instantly by the list that this is a budget cat food and they don't even name any meat such as Chicken or Beef. It's comparable to budget foods like Coshida, Whiskas, Felix and Supermarket own brand. This sort of quality would cost around £3-£4 for a case of 12 pouches.
But wait there's more...
The RRP at time of writing for a box of 12x85g pouches is £11.88
£11.88!!
I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Imagine the high quality food you could feed for that money.
Lets compare to a proper high quality Kitten food.
Natures Menu Kitten 12x100g RRP £10.32 (our price is lower still)
Composition: Chicken 70%, Broth 28%.
No fillers, no derivatives, no sugar and no nonsense.
To conclude, we will not stock foods that are 4 times the price they should be. We will stock foods that are the right price for the quality.
Thank you for taking the time to read. Pop in to Taylors Petfoods, Station Road, Attleborough and take a look at the fab cat foods we stock.
